WORK IN PROGRESS ON THE 7 METRE LONG DANCE FRIEZE AT
KING ALFRED SCHOOL, HIGHBRIDGE, SOMERSET

The 3 metre high ‘Beoley Pillar’ was made by the whole school. 90 children between the ages of 4 and 9 during a five day residency. [March 2005].

ASTWOOD BANK FIRST SCHOOL

The Astwood Bank ‘Green Man’ has been assembled from component pieces made by almost 300 children aged between 4 and 9 during a four day residency. They have been mounted on a 1.5 metre diameter semi-circular timber panel.

BISHOPS WOOD ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTRE, Stourport.

I metre wingspan dragonfly. Wings made and signed by 140 visitors during ‘Big Draw’ weekend at the centre in October 2004. Body section, lilies, mosquito and flotation system completed during six further workshop sessions with students from 3 pupil referral units [

BENGEWORTH FIRST SCHOOL Evesham.
1.5 metre long chameleon to be installed on an external wall at the school. Body panels have been textured by images of ‘mini beasts that might make up the chameleon’s diet. They have been punched into the copper by the school’s 200+ 4 to 9 year olds and arranged in a brickwork pattern representing the chameleon’s famous ability to blend into its surroundings. ST. ANNE’S MIDDLE SCHOOL, Bewdley
IMPACT Summer School project 2005. Five day residency with 25 year 6/7 pupils. The finished piece functions as a sculptural planter in which each child in the school will plant an acorn. The school is to close in 2007 and it is planned to symbolically disperse the seedling oaks in the nearby Wyre Forest (just as the children will disperse). [July 2005]
